The Art of Parenting by daveainley The Art of Parenting by daveainley
First off, I just wanna say that I think this may very well be the coolest piece I've ever done. What do you think?

I came up with this idea while brainstorming with Miriam and Angelana. Take whatever story or hidden message from this you want, but I'd love to hear what it means to YOU, if anything at all.

Strings were tied to all of Miriam's limbs and given to Angelana to control from atop the roof of an outdoor stage. (45 mins. setup)

15 hrs post editing in PS (Angelana enlarged, some branches removed from the sky, curtains & distressing added, hinged joints and wood filtration applied to Miriam's skin)

models: Miriam (marionette), Angelana (manipulator)

It is an awesome photo and a great manipulation. I am able to see how much work you spend in it, but..well ..i dont like it. i respect your work, but i dont like it.

Fair enough! I understand it may be a bit creepy, too. What specifically don't you like about it, out of curiosity?

Maybe it is , because you've edited a lot on this Photo , i adore your shots befor more hum ..what can i say ..not even realistic .. but there is a lot more of life in them for me. This is a kind of dead message. Loveless.

Okay. I get that. Its fun to differ, though. I do SO MUCH of that stuff that its a welcome change from the photographer's perspective, ya know?

Sure, i know that you have to change your style fromtime to time , to improve yourself .. so as i said ..it is a good work , i just don't like the theme .. but i respect the amount of work in it.
